CSIRO Guided Bondi Beach Walk

ISWC organising partner CSIRO is hosting walking tours for ISWC registrants.

Come and enjoy the Sydney spring sunshine at Bondi, one of Sydney's famous beaches.

A great opportunity to socialise and see one of Sydney's iconic places.

When

Sunday 20th October

Where

Starting at the tutorials venue, to Bronte beach, Bondi beach and back.

What

Meet a CSIRO guide at the workshops venue (meet outside the venue at the corner of Goulburn and Castlereagh streets, gmap), who will take the group by bus ($3.60 fare) to Bronte.

Your guide will take the group along the ocean walk (red path on linked map, going north) to Bondi beach.

The walk is less than 3km and there are steps.

The walk takes you along to coast edge and you'll get to see the beaches, great views over the crystal blue water, and the rocks and cliffs up and down the coast.  It's also whale migration season, so you just might see a whale or a dolphin (as nice as your guides will be, they can't promise that one).  There is an aboriginal rock carving along the way.

Once in Bondi you can take in the ocean views, visit a cafe or bar or stroll along the beach with an ice cream.

Your guide will then take you by bus ($3.60 fare) back to the tutorials venue.

How Long

About 4 hours total.

What to Bring

Comfortable walking clothes and shoes, and money (at least 2 x $3.60 for bus fares).  Also advisable hat, suncream, sun glasses if you wear them and a camera.

Have lunch before starting - it's about 1 1/2 hours from leaving till the chance of food at Bondi.

You must sign up for the event, so we know how many guides to provide and which times will run.  Please sign up into one of the following time slots.  Note you must arrive at the departure point by this time otherwise you will miss the bus.
