The 12th International Semantic Web Conference
and the 1st Australasian Semantic Web Conference
21-25 October 2013, Sydney, Australia
Australasian Semantic Web BOF, Semantic Web meetup & Unconference
The Australasian Semantic Web Conference, taking over from the long-running Australasian Ontology Workshop series, will be launched at ISWC 2013. For this first conference, a birds-of-a-feather meeting will be collocated with ISWC at the Grand Lodge, Sydney Masonic Centre on Monday 21st October, at 1:45 pm to 3:30 pm. See the Monday program for details. You are cordially invited to this event.
The BoF will be an informal discussion of research. Attendees at the BoF are invited to spend at most 10 minutes presenting their research projects (powerpoint optional). To be selected for presentation during the meeting, please submit a one-paragraph synopsis on paper, including your email address, at the beginning of the meeting. Your synopsis will be published on a website afterwards. Students are especially welcome. At the end, participants will be invited to contribute to the design of the 2nd and future Australasian Semantic Web Conferences.
Immediately following the BoF there will be an afternoon tea and then a "Semantic web meetup and unconference" to 17:45, to which you are also invited. The latter is targeted at Sydney region semantic web developers and interested parties, and an exciting industry-oriented keynote is planned.
The Australasian Semantic Web Conference BoF and the following meetup are open to ISWC delegates and the general public. The Australasian W3C office is sponsoring afternoon tea. Please call in at the registration desk on arrival at the Sydney Masonic Centre.
